how is people program operating during covid? |
People Program's
Staff and Board of Directors have mandated that the People Program will
follow the lead of the government of the City of New Orleans. Click the picture below for the latest update.
In this unprecedented pandemic, People Program is doing its best to keep its students, teachers and staff safe. Please join us in helping to protect our community!
At the recommendation of the board, Tulane's Business Resilience and Community Education medical staff, the CDC and the City of New Orleans, we are requiring People Program participants to follow these policies and procedures:
Scientists are advising seniors that the best protection against both the Delta and the Omicron variants is a vaccine booster. Please take time during the semester break to get your booster if you have not already done so. It will be best for those who plan to meet in person next semester to GET BOOSTED.
1. A mass email will be sent to People Program fall semester students and instructors detailing the class / activity that a person who was positive for COVID attended. The name of that person will NOT be released, according to HIPAA compliance.
2. For those who had close contact with the exposed persons (within 6ft for 15 minutes within 24 hours):
For the person who is positive for COVID-19 and has symptoms, they may return to campus after 10 days symptoms first appeared AND 3 days have passed with no fever (without the use of fever-reducing meds) and improved respiratory symptoms.
For the person who is positive for COVID-19 and is asymptomatic, they may return to campus 10 days after their first positive COVID test if they have not developed any symptoms within that time.
Exposed persons, will only be allowed back on campus after producing a negative covid test performed 5-7 days after exposure, OR after quarantining for 14 days. For the health of the rest of the community, all exposed persons are advised to quarantine for at least 5-7 days until they can get a negative test.
3. The campus will undergo extra cleaning in the rooms where exposure occurred in addition to the regular nightly cleaning that the janitorial service provides.
